Gross Earned Income (employed by another) — the total amount of wages, salaries, tips, commissions, or the dollar value of in-kind benefits received by an employee as compensation for work performed before any payroll deductions are subtracted.
Gross Earned Income (self-employed) — the total amount of cash or the dollar value of in-kind benefits, minus the cost of doing business, which is received as compensation for work performed.
Gross Income — the total of gross earned income, the total net self-employed income, and the total unearned income before deductions.
Group Living Arrangement — a public or private nonprofit residential setting that serves no more than sixteen residents. The residence must be certified by the appropriate agency or agencies of the State, under regulations issued under section 1616(e) of the Social Security Act or under standards determined by the Secretary to be comparable to standards implemented by appropriate State agencies under section 1616(e) of the Social Security Act. To be eligible for SNAP benefits, a resident of a group living arrangement must meet the target definition of blind or disabled.
